Mary Pierce, CPA
Mary Pierce didn’t take the traditional path to public accounting — and that’s exactly what makes her different.
Growing up in Detroit, Mary worked in her family’s auto parts business from the time she was 14, learning firsthand what it takes to keep a small business alive. That early experience planted a deep belief that never left her: small business owners deserve a real financial partner, not just a tax preparer.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor of Science degree, Mary earned her CPA license at a large regional firm — and then made a bold move. She stepped out of public accounting to serve as Controller, CFO, and Chief Tax Officer for top real estate developers and builders in both Michigan and Florida. She didn’t just advise on the numbers; she lived inside the business, building systems, leading teams, and driving strategy from the inside out.
That real-world operator experience is what she brings back to her clients today. Her expertise spans core accounting and tax, systems and procedures, information technology, and human resources — giving her a perspective that most CPAs simply can’t offer. As a member of the American Institute of Certified Tax Coaches, she adds proactive tax strategy to help clients keep more of what they earn.
Mary is a member and Past President of the Gold Coast Builders Association and holds her CPA license in Florida.
When she’s not helping clients build wealth, Mary can be found at the piano (for her ears only), baking for lucky friends and family, walking Blue the rescue dog, reading voraciously, or cheering on the Detroit Red Wings — patiently.
